About Me

Hi! I'm Shivani, an artist and designer based in New Delhi, India. Art is my way to create a little more tenderness, love and compassion in the world. My themes are drawn from my own inner experiences through my years of yoga, along with my love for nature and storytelling. With my inherent need to connect with people through my art, I have now begun creating products using my artwork that can be used by others in everyday life. This has organically led me into the space of design.

Over the years, I find myself most instinctually drawn towards watercolours. With its free flow and unpredictability, I find it an immensely enjoyable medium to work with. It also brings the softness and subtlety I look to bring in my artwork.

Self taught, with my mentor as renowned artist - Shobha Broota, I have always enjoyed painting, even as a child. In 2004 I graduated with a degree in Math and Computer Science from the University of Waterloo, Canada, worked for a few years in the IT industry only to rediscover myself through art several years later.

Through thick and thin, art has kept me grounded, teaching me patience, involvement and dedication. As I move forward, I look to keep experimenting, growing and creating artworks and designs that bring a little skip to peoples hearts.

Cheers,
Shivani
